Walldorf
Project
New timber-hybrid administration building
About the project
A wood-hybrid building is planned for the Walldorf site. For its initial occupancy by a single tenant, the administrative building will be equipped with modern office spaces, a kitchen, and a rooftop terrace. However, the building is designed to be flexible and accommodate multiple tenants.
Green Building
The building is designed to be carbon-neutral throughout its entire lifecycle, not just during operation. Heating is provided by a combination of geothermal heat pumps and air-source heat pumps. Cooling is achieved through direct cooling from the geothermal field and additional evaporative cooling. The additional rooftop and facade photovoltaic systems ensure CO2-positive operation to reduce the “carbon footprint.” To minimize energy consumption, the entire building is controlled on a zone-by-zone basis, tailored to specific needs. The building is to be certified as “Climate Positive” by the DGNB.
