Schott Pharma
Müllheim Project

New production and administration building, laboratories, modern clean room technology, logistics center, pilot center for the development of innovations

About the project

A new production facility was built for SCHOTT Pharma at the Müllheim-Hügelheim site, where state-of-the-art production lines manufacture sterile polymer solutions for the storage and administration of pharmaceuticals.

In the laboratory and production areas of the pharmaceutical industry and its suppliers, the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and safety apply. Even the slightest deviations or safety breaches can lead to faulty production processes and products. Consequently, the stringent regulatory requirements for medical devices result in equally high demands on the design of the necessary building services. The new facility, spanning approximately 11,000 m², is equipped with the latest cleanroom technology and state-of-the-art laboratories. Particular attention in the building services planning was paid to compressed air generation in accordance with GMP requirements and the completely dead-space-free stainless steel technology for the media.

The production building also includes a pilot center for developing innovations and an integrated administrative area with modern workstations. The production facility also features a logistics center with a high-bay warehouse, equipped with a specially designed sprinkler system for fire protection. Already planned today for tomorrow and the day after, SCHOTT Pharma’s production lines can be flexibly expanded in the future with scalable, modular building services.

LIEBERT met all project requirements through innovative and integrated building planning. Planning was carried out from the outset using a 3D model and following BIM methodology. A project server enabled the exchange of all project data among all project participants, which significantly facilitated collaboration on the project. The new production and administrative area was thus able to go into operation right on schedule.
