The
Tacheles Project 

Spanning an area of 23,346 m² with eleven buildings and three public squares, the concept of the city at TACHELES is being redefined. This holistic urban planning concept interprets the site’s history in a unique way. By 2023, a vibrant urban space for living, working, shopping, and culture will emerge between Oranienburger Straße, Friedrichstraße, and Johannisstraße. A diversity of mutually enriching uses will shape the character of this architectural flagship project just as much as the squares, courtyards, and paths designed with abundant greenery.
Eleven new impressive buildings—each unique and created with visionary flair—give rise to spheres of the extraordinary.

Seven residential buildings will meet the high standards of cosmopolitan living. Three modern office buildings create work environments full of inspiration and possibilities. Due to the high sustainability of the office buildings, the project received WiredScore certification and was awarded the LEED Platinum certificate. Retail and dining establishments will line the public spaces—with Aaron-Bernstein-Platz, one of the largest squares in Berlin-Mitte is also being created. Behind its historic façade, the former Kunsthaus Tacheles will once again become a venue for culture.
