MERCEDES-BENZ VERTRIEB DEUTSCHLAND, BERLIN, NEW MARKETING CENTRE HIGH-RISE BUILDING

Scope of supply
Planning of all technical supply installations for the trades/systems sanitation, sprinklers, heating, cooling, ventilation, I&C/BMS, high-voltage, low-voltage and media installations for the new marketing centre building on an area of 26,000 m² in total, for the 1,600 employees of MBVD. Special technical features: free cooling at 13°C outdoor temperature by means of plate-type heat exchangers; grid-based, plaster-rendered cooling ceilings; free heating areas in the offices; the building is 35% below ENEV requirements.

In the press
The new structure is an office building with about 1200 workplaces, and includes special areas such as the lavish, two-storey showroom, the employees’ restaurant, a large conference centre, and a restaurant and bar open to the public. The building is impressive not only for its modern architecture, but also for meeting stringent environmental standards. Among other features, there is a 1,000 m² roof garden, and this in a location where it has been a long time since there was anything green. Compared with a conventional building, there is an energy saving of around 30 percent. This corresponds to the energy requirements of 35 single-family homes. This is achieved, for example, by a special façade, which is 50% better than the legal requirement.

This project has won in the category architecture the “German Design Award Special 2016”.
